Searching for the perfect site…

Yesterday Eric and I went to look at Sky Meadow Country Club up in Nashua. It was pretty nice. They only do one wedding per day, so we’d have exclusive use of the facilities. I really liked the main ballroom – it had nice wood trim and a great stone fireplace. But, they didn’t seem to have any of our desired September/October 2009 dates, so I think we’ll keep looking.

Sky Meadow is only the 3rd place we’ve looked at. We checked out Nashoba Valley Winery in Bolton, MA, and Tewksbury Country Club. Nashoba Valley was way too small – the reception would take place in the restaurant there, and it’s pretty much a converted farmhouse. It’s not an open floor plan, and there is no dance floor. Tewksbury CC was beautiful – they have a gorgeous grand ballroom with high ceilings and exposed warm wood beams. But, our party wouldn’t be big enough for that room. We would fit in a separate room there, which was nice enough, but I felt like we’d be at the little kid’s table, you know? I want to be in the grand ballroom!

I almost feel like Goldilocks – I need a place that is “just right”. The search continues…
